Live Audio Engineering
Head of Sound - Cirque Du Soleil
I have been blessed with the opportunity to oversee the audio department on some of the world’s largest touring productions with nearly 80 trucks, and residencies on the infamous Las Vegas strip. Cirque Du Soleil productions are often some of the most complex, pushing the boundaries of touring and entertainment technology. In my role as head of audio, and formerly assistant head of audio, I have been responsible for managing full time and local crews, planning city-to-city transfers, maintaining the audio system to the highest standards, and mixing front of house and monitors for nearly 500 performances every year. Additionally being part of the creation team for Mad Apple meant that I helped bring the show to life from scratch, overcoming time and budget constraints while building one of the most music focused shows in their catalog with the largest band in Cirque Du Soleil. The dynamic nature of my responsibilities keeps every day challenging and unique, but creating an unforgettable experience for an audience each night makes it worth it.
Concerts & Festivals
Sound Design, FOH Engineer, & A2
My start in the live entertainment space came in the form of musical theatre. I began as audio assistant (A2) on many productions where I was responsible for getting actors into microphones, monitoring the wireless frequencies during the performance, and quickly troubleshooting problems. Over the course of a couple of years I had worked over 30 musical productions and honed the craft of audio for theatre. As I gained experience I began to mix front of house for shows, assistant sound design, and sound design. This was the foundation that I eventually would springboard off of into the world of concerts and large scale touring, and has shaped my perspective of live performance and who I am as an engineer.
